Warm, kind and classy, Chyka is a successful businesswoman, a styling powerhouse and online editor of her own lifestyle magazine. Chyka has established herself as a major player in the business world by leading a group of highly successful event and hospitality companies. Alongside her husband, she established The Big Group over 25-years ago, whichis now Australia’s largest privately owned events and catering company. No stranger to TV, Chyka previously spent four years as the homemaking and styling expert on Good Morning Australia (Network Ten) and three series on The Real Housewives of Melbourne (Foxtel).
THE DAY
A limited opportunity for executive leaders and business owners to workshop their top three pain points. Choose three of seventeen topics from leadership and influencing, pathways to the Boardroom through to finding alternatives to scale. Each workshop will be expertly facilitated and promises to deliver practical outcomes with no more than 15 delegates in each. GILLIAN COSTA
A Geelong born and bred resident with a history of business management in Geelong and Victoria.
Gaining her understanding of business principles whilst working as the ‘only girl’ in the family’s fresh fruit and vegetable business, Gillian learnt resilience, resourcefulness and the importance of
developing a good team with tight procedures.
Gillian’s first business was in the hospitality industry, back when ‘ you lived and died completely by your own sword’. Since then she has enjoyed stints in the building and manufacturing industries and is now back in Hospitality as a Director of The EMC Group, which operates The Pier Geelong, Wah Wah Gee & Wah Bah, The Edge, Denny’s Kitchen and Geelong’s very unique Lambys Tavern.
Gillian also holds a board positions in the Aged Care Sector in Geelong and holds a position with State Government as Deputy Chair for the Kardinia Park Stadium Trust.
LyNDSAY SHARP
With more than 30 years’ experience in journalism, marketing and public relations, Lyndsay heads up all things marketing, sales and customer experience across four of the most dynamic ‘products’ on The Bellarine Peninsula – Jack Rabbit Vineyard, Flying Brick Cider Co, Leura Park Estate and Curlewis Golf Club.
Jack Rabbit Vineyard is a showpiece of The Bellarine, known for its spectacular food, wine and views. A regular in The Age Good Food Guide, Jack Rabbit was awarded Best People, Place and Product Tourism Restaurant in Australia in the Restaurant & Catering Association’s National Awards for Excellence in 2015. Established in 2010, Flying Brick Cider Co has firmly established itself as one of the premier craft cider brands in Australia whilst Curlewis Golf Club is officially the fastest growing golf club in Australia. Leura Park Estate is renowned for its premium cool climate wines and popular Cellar Door experience. Lyndsay’s work history has included Senior Consultant with the Clemenger Group, Journalist with Reed Publishing and Lecturer at RMIT and Deakin Universities.
Lyndsay was the inaugural Publicist of the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival (1993, 94, 95) She holds a Master of Professional Communication (USQ) and Bachelor of Arts (Melbourne).
MELYNDA CARPENTER
With a background spanning some 20 years in the financial services sector, Melynda has worked across many different areas including business banking, risk, property, marketing, and offshore in the Bank’s Indonesian operations. The one thread that has tied all her experience together has been a passion for helping others to succeed. Now heading up Women in Focus at Commonwealth Bank, Melynda works with extremely interesting and accomplished women breaking barriers in both business and entrepreneurship. Women in Focus is committed to advancing the growth of women in business and Melynda is passionate about creating lasting connections and experiences to support women in business.
As an owner of Childcare Centres on the Central Coast she keeps connected to the challenges and opportunities for small business. A mum to 3 boys she enjoys exploring the outdoors.
