Nova Peris  

Nova Peris OAM OLY was Australia’s first indigenous woman elected to federal parliament and the first Aboriginal Australian and Northern Territorian to win an Olympic gold medal. 

Nova Peris has demonstrated leadership all throughout her life, breaking down barriers once viewed as unachievable for an Aboriginal woman – or any woman.

Since the mid-1990s, she has spoken regularly on the plights facing Aboriginal people. and has visited hundreds of communities throughout Australia to gain as much of an insight as possible into the issues facing people from all walks of life. Her commitment, passion, and work ethic is indeed unrivalled. In 2018, Nova was the Northern Territory Award Winner for Excellence in Women’s Leadership, recognising her contribution to the advancement of gender equality across Australia.


Kerrie Parker (FCPA, GAICD) is the Chief Financial Officer at Deakin University.

Kerrie has held CEO, CFO and executive leadership roles in fast moving consumer goods, agriculture, manufacturing, financial services, government and higher education.  She has been involved in successful business transformations, leading through growth, turnaround and crisis situations, including the acquisition and divestment of brands and businesses.

Experience has been gained in ASX publically listed, multinational and private equity investments. She is a company director and an independent member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Department of Education and Training (Victoria).

Kerrie graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and has a Graduate Certificate of Information Technology completed at Swinburne University.
