Join us for the Gender in the Workplace conversation on Communication Bias. If you are a gender equity advocate or curious you can’t miss this conversation. Rarely discussed but powerful, communication biases perpetuate gender inequality in many workplaces.

For example, why is one person described as aggressive by some and assertive by others and how do these biases impact their ability to deliver? We will be discussing this topic amongst others with an aim to give you tools and ideas on how you can improve your workplace.

We will be exploring this with our gender equity advocates :- Ashley Hunt, Mark Stickells, Chandell Labbozzetta and Ashley McGrath.

Chandell Labbozzetta CEO of Life Puzzle Chandell is a a gender equity advocate. She is passionate about the ‘Transformational Leadership’ model that eliminates confusion, sustains momentum and creates a more inclusive and productive environment for Leaders AND their Teams. Her model empowers Leaders to be confident and grow confidence, which leads to empowered decisions, wise choices, and profitable interactions – all of which assist in creating Results (even in times of uncertainty and tumult). She is also a best-selling author, Master Trainer of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Sales Strategist, Leadership Specialist and all-round Confidence Booster. 

Mark Stickells AM is the CEO of Australia’s Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre. Pawsey is critical national research infrastructure and hosts exascale-class high performance computing (HPC) system, Setonix – the Southern Hemisphere’s most powerful, energy efficient research supercomputer.  Pawsey is also Australia’s HPC/quantum computing research laboratory and a key partner in the global Square Kilometre Array Observatory project.

Mark is a member of Australia’s National Quantum Advisory Committee and a non-executive director of Science and Technology Australia Ltd a peak body representing more than 115,000 scientists and technologists. Mark is also a Fellow of Australian Institute of Company Directors and Australian Institute of Management, and member of CEO’s for Gender Equity. In 2024, Mark was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his significant service to science, particularly information technology, and to the community.

Ashley McGrath is a gender equity trailblazer on a mission to turn the dial in Western Australia. Ashley leads CEOs for Gender Equity, a for-purpose organisation which seeks to accelerate gender equity by inspiring and supporting CEOs to take action. Ashley is also working on a PhD project which will increase female inclusion and diversity in the Western Australian mining industry.

Asheley Hunt is the Managing Director of Datadrivesinsights.com. He is passionate about assisting both organisations and individuals to reach their full potential.  He has a diverse work history across various industries; however, this passion has been the common denominator throughout.  In 2010, Ashley created Veraison, a boutique business offering premium specialised services aimed at creating optimal culture to drive high performance in partnering organisations. Ashley also founded DataDrivesInsight.com in 2019, a technology company which has built a dedicated team and suite of specialised tools that provide a holistic view of the organisational issues at hand. Having held senior leadership positions including CEO of a SME, Ashley’s unique experience partnering with senior leaders from a variety of industries to deliver culture optimisation programs sets him apart from other consultants.
