However\, generative AI platforms raise some challenging intellectual property and other legal risks that need to be managed. We are starting to see regulatory responses to this new technology area that will need to be navigated as well. \nTakeaways: You will leave this workshop with practical insights and actions relating to: \n\nDoes the use of generative AI tools in your organisation place your organisation’s IP at risk and\, if so\, how can this be addressed?\nDoes your organisation own the IP in material created using generative AI tools?\nDoes the use by your organisation of generative AI tools create legal risks of infringing the IP of others?\nWhat sort of internal and external procedures\, policies and approvals need to be in place for the use of generative AI tools in your organisation?\n\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Tim Clark Partner\, Intellectual Property & Technology Specialist \nTim Clark has nearly 25 years’ experience in intellectual property\, information and communications technology\, privacy and data security.  As head of the Intellectual Property and Technology practice group\, Tim is responsible for setting and leading the execution of the team’s national strategy. \nHis extensive experience in intellectual property includes copyright\, patents\, trade marks\, designs and confidential information / trade secrets.  He regularly advises clients on the protection and management of their IP portfolios. He assists clients with assignments\, licensing and the commercialisation of IP.  Tim acts for clients in enforcement of their IP against third parties as well as in responding to IP infringement demands. He acts in contentious matters including trade mark opposition hearings before IP Australia and in commencing and defending against IP litigation. \nTim advises clients in a range of industries on information and communications technology (ICT) procurement\, ICT contracts\, disputes in relation to ICT contracts and related IP\, data protection and privacy issues. As part of his practice\, he regularly advises clients in relation to failed ICT projects including legal disputes arising from those projects including legal proceedings. \nTim’s advice on data protection and privacy legislation includes privacy policies and collection statements\, data collection practices\, advice on uses and disclosures of personal data\, data sharing arrangements (including cross-border arrangements) and mandatory data breach notification. \nTim’s expertise has been recognised year on year though various directories as a Recommended Lawyer for Intellectual Property (since 2013) as well as Technology\, Media & Communications and Data Protection in The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific.  He has also received recognition in Best Lawyers in Australia and the Doyle’s Guide.
