Deb Nash: Truffleduck

Truffleduck’s Business Manager, was a Primary School teacher on family leave from the Education Department in

1989 when she headed into Geelong for one of Ruby’s famous yo-yos. Soon to be known as Truffleduck, the café seemed to suck her in to its

vortex and she never really left. With the support of her family, Deb worked hard, rocketing from kitchen-hand to catering aficionada in next to no time.

Deb’s unwavering loyalty of now 33 years to Truffleduck is admirable. She is the face of the business, binding

Truffleduck to Geelong and the wider community; she remembers the name, face, year and menu of almost every client and event Truffleduck has ever

hosted. It is rare to encounter that level of service anywhere.

Belinda Austin - Austin Wines

Belinda Austin joined her husband Scott as a second generation owner of Austin’s Wines in 2013.  Bringing with her creativity, a unique viewpoint and social media savvy to the Marketing Manager. Her vision was to transform their 6Ft6 wine brand into a lifestyle wine brand through an innovative marketing strategy targeting the niche millennial market. Now as Head of Marketing her focus is now on transforming the Austin’s wine brand with a direct to consumer focus at our newly opened cellar door and wine club.

Belinda is excited about the future in wine, connecting to wine lovers and continuing to raise her family on the vineyard estate. Here she resides with her husband Scott and three children; Spencer, Delilah and Huxley and is expecting baby number 4 in October.

Sarah Fenton - Bellarine Smokehouse

Having worked in the corporate world for 20 years and never having finished her University Degree
(Bachelor of Arts), Sarah Fenton did not see herself as an entrepreneur.
Sarah’s extensive background in corporate sales and recruitment as a Business Development Manager,
was all about opening new revenue streams, building lasting relationships and learning about people –
she was always making money for other people and learning about vastly different kinds of businesses
along the way.

Moving forward to 2018, Sarah and her husband Jason took the plunge to open Bellarine Smokehouse. It
was a decision taken quickly over 2 days! Fast forward four years and they’re still learning every day,
employ 2 full-time and 4 part-time staff and have a business approaching $1m in sales.
From her need to exercise and manage her mental health during COVID, Sarah began an ocean
swimming group called the Salty Bitches.

Starting with 6 people in Sept 2020, it has grown to over 1000
members today. This has led to the creation of a swimwear and sports brand due to be launched later
this year. Sarah’s goal is to provide Australian made and designed sportswear using eco-fabrics for
women in sizes 14-26, a range of products for REAL ACTIVE WoMEN that are comfortable, fit for purpose
and stylish.  10% of all profits will go to a mental health charity whose focus is on women’s mental
health.
